2.. Malik Brown vs Zach Stone *****, DCA Revelations 5 Night 2 12/21/19 +26 - There’s something to say about absolute pure excitement when seeing a match. When you get the the mindset of “this is awesome” or “holy shit, this is great” that’s when you’ve made a great match. Now when you are able to keep that mindset for nearly an hour, then you know you’ve got something special. Enter in Malik Brown vs Zach Stone. A Rivalry being renewed at the same event that made them marquee names in the land of DCA. Their first encounter was already damn good, so everybody was curious on what could be done to top it. And my God, I don’t think anyone could’ve seen what was coming next. Just 50 straight minutes of fast paced, bloody, balls to the walls action. Not once did it let up and not once did it let you breathe. This thing was crazy from the word go and once it started, it never stopped. 4. Toshimi Minami vs Sakura Hagiwara *****, ACW Glamor X Element Tournament Quarterfinals 03/03/19 +23 - Here’s a match that goes under everyone’s radar when it comes to everyone’s MOTY. Maybe that’s because it happened so early in the year or some other reason, but for what ever that reason is, you owe it yourself to rewatch this match. Some of the best pure wrestling in a virtual wrestling match in a long time. I loved how Toshimi seemingly had an answer for Sakura at almost every turn. Sakura got in her suplexes, sure, but when it came to the ground game and reversing, Toshimi was clearly the better wrestler throughout. This was as close to a perfect Joshi match you could ask for on the 2K system and the amount of work going into, whether it be gameplay or editing based, can not be overlooked. 6. Ben Hopkins vs Brandon Wolfe ****3/4, CAS 11 Day 2 08/25/19 +27 - The one thing that I put above all when it comes CAW (or most things in general) it’s improvement. As long as I see that there are people willing to improve their craft, I will always have faith that the virtual wrestling community will thrive each and every day. And I can honestly say that there has not been a more significant improvement in quality than the ones made in this years CAW All-Stars event. Quite easily one of the best show’s of the year, you can honestly see that time and care was given to this to make it the best it could and boy did it succeed. But what good is a show if you don’t end it off with a bang. Enter in the main event of CAW All-Stars 11: Ben Hopkins vs Brandon Wolfe. 8. Akuma vs Sagat ****3/4, ACW Animania V 05/07/19 +26 - A match between not only the two greatest fighters in ACW history, but probably in all of fighting games. Two very dangerous men who are nearing the end of their careers, and decide to put on one hell of a show for the audience in attendance. I can’t remember a TV title match ever having as much hype as this match did and it was fantastic. Both of these men coming in at the height of their popularity and it was truly split down the middle. No one really wanted to see these two lose, but at the same time, everyone knew that we had to have an answer to who was better. The match itself was filled to the brim with drama, big time action, and jaw dropping moments. You never knew who could get the victory at any time and that’s what made it special. 10. Christie Montiero vs Destiny Williams - ****3/4, QOW Serenity, 03/30/19 +24   - The last of the trilogy of matches that had every fan of VWU on their toes. Every single time that these two locked horns in the middle of the ring, it was something to talk about. From their brisk speed, unrelenting offense, and unbelievable sequences. And this match proved to be no different from the others. In a lot of ways, this resembled a main event dragon gate match with how much stuff these two threw at one another. Always having a counter in mind and always looking to one up each other every time they could. It’s a match that doesn’t give you a second to breathe and keeps you guessing throughout the majority of it’s showcase. And the ending of this match is just the icing on the cake of what was a true spectacle to be seen. Give the whole trilogy a watch if you haven’t.
