ZAIAH MELTZER'S TOP 100 MATCHES OF 2019: 10 AND 9

10. Christie Montiero vs Destiny Williams - ****3/4, QOW Serenity, 03/30/19 +24 

- The last of the trilogy of matches that had every fan of VWU on their toes. Every single time that these two locked horns in the middle of the ring, it was something to talk about. From their brisk speed, unrelenting offense, and unbelievable sequences. And this match proved to be no different from the others. In a lot of ways, this resembled a main event dragon gate match with how much stuff these two threw at one another. Always having a counter in mind and always looking to one up each other every time they could. It’s a match that doesn’t give you a second to breathe and keeps you guessing throughout the majority of it’s showcase. And the ending of this match is just the icing on the cake of what was a true spectacle to be seen. Give the whole trilogy a watch if you haven’t. You owe it to yourself to watch some fantastic virtual wrestling.

9. John Blackos vs Jamal Bedlam ****3/4, CAS 11 Day 1 08/24/19 +25

- For as long as I have known these two, they’ve been pretty much been feuding in every company they enter together. Which was why I was so delighted to see them finally get the big stage they deserve and settle their differences at CAW All-Stars 11 last year. And wouldn’t you know it, they stole the show on Day 1 of the event. Right from the word go, these two did not waste any time beating the hell out of one another. This wasn’t any type of technical classic, it was two dudes just fighting to see which could finally put down the other. It was filled with so much character driven emotion that it was kind of hard to get invested in everything that these two did in this match. From the editing, commentary, calculated action, and even the occasional inside joke, a lot of work was put in to make this match the classic that it was, and it 100% shows. Hopefully, the next time these two go at it, that maybe they could fight for a world title. But as it stands now, this is still a very damn good wrestling match.
