CAW[n]SPIRACY NIGHT 1 REVIEW!

With more fanfare than an AEW show, Zaiah Meltzer is back with another CAW Show review.
Now as announced on the last review, we are starting off with our series of CAW[n]spiracy show reviews. And we're going to start off with night 1!
As always, these are my non-kayfaybe opinions and probably shouldn't be taken too seriously. With that said, ON TO THE REVIEW!
CAW[n]SPIRACY NIGHT ONE STAR RATINGS:
Mighty Yukiko vs Panther Risako - BWQ World Championship - **1/2 (A decent way to start off tonight’s show. It was mostly filled with a bunch of moves and such and I didn’t get much of a story during it, but it was filled with exciting action throughout it. The thing that is ultimately the hinderance to the match is the editing and the pacing. During the first like 6 minutes of the match, the audio is way out of sync and the match itself just goes on for way too long. The false finishes didn’t feel earned and there was nothing really to keep me emotionally invested in it. If you just want a fast moving contest, then you’ll like this match. I just wish I got a little bit more.
Travis Touchdown vs Sho Minamoto - TLC Match - FCWL International Championship - **3/4 (This was a much more story driven match than the first match. However, that does not mean this match was not riddled with it’s own problems as well. This was very much a car crash in more ways than one. Very fast paced and chaotic. Which what you would expect from a TLC match so kudos for that. A problem this match faces is for one that the video sort of cuts out here and there and it’s very distracting. Also, unlike the first match, this one goes on a little too short and could’ve been a bit longer. Lastly, there was no tables. It’s a TLC match… And there were no tables… Disgusting. Good match. Could’ve been more.
Luigi vs Soul Reaper - ****1/4 - (Insane match. An unexpected show stealer to say the least. These two beat the holy shit out of each other for over 20 minutes and it was brutal in the best way. Luigi looked to have Soul Reaper throughout the majority of the contest, but Reaper refused to stay down and kept fighting back until the bitter end. Some of the drawbacks for this match I would say come from the pacing and the later end. For instance, Luigi went for the Boston crab 3 times on the outside and repeated the outside superplex twice. Which is one too many. I also thought that the ending sequence could’ve been a bit better, but I think the actual ending made up for it. A chaotic war to say the least.
Tommy Skywalker vs Jay Currency vs Kojuro Otomo vs Zippaman vs Rob Aitken vs ACP vs Raze vs Tenchi Fukokawa - *** (Ok, so a bunch of shit happened before this match actually got started. A whole lot of people got attacked and The whole money in the bank set up had to be changed. Haven’t kept up with DWF in awhile so I was very confused when all of this went down. I’m just going to say now, when you’re trying to re-introduce people to your product, starting off with an insane multi man angle and then following up with an 8 man ladder match, probably isn’t the best idea. With that said, this was entertaining for what it was. I didn’t get much out of it, but for what little of this match was, they maximized their minutes with some good hardcore wrestling. Raze would end up winning the whole thing and will get a future world title shot down the road. Good ladder match. Very confusing angle.)
The Pub Club and Australian Dragon vs The Bogans - **1/4 - Ok let me say this. The Bogans are a legit great trio and I will fight you if you say otherwise. And, for a good part of this contest, the action was pretty decent. But the frame rate of this match is what throws me off of it. It is very hard to look at and is, at some points, very distracting. The Bogans did a great job at keeping the Pub Club and Dragon cornered and under control until the very end. At that point, the face team would gain the advantage and would go on and win the match. There isn’t really much more to say on this subject than that. Decent contest that DESPERATELY needed a different recorder or editing system.)
M-Accuracy vs Shawn O’Connor - Hell in a Cell Match - ***3/4 (Structurally, this is probably the best match on the card. The spots, for the most part, were well timed and the action was always there. Shawn and M did a great job with their storytelling throughout the match and even added some dangerous moments in as well. My complaints for this contest would be that it was too short and that there were a handful of awkward moments as well. Like there is a part where both men are climbing down the cell and they have to get back in the ring and it looks ridiculous. I would’ve loved to seen this match go about 5 minutes longer because it looked like they were going to kick it into final gear there and then the match just ended. So, all in all, a really good match that could’ve used more time.)
OVERALL SCORE: 6.5/10 (Probably not the best start to CAW[n]spiracy. Although both Luigi vs Soul Reaper and M-Accuracy vs Shawn O’Connor were both really good matches, the rest of the card suffered from bad editing, choppy frame rate, and just below average match quality. It wasn’t the strongest starting point for the show and it clearly shown here. Matches went either too quick or too slow and there were also an abundance of confusing moments as well. If you’re gonna watch anything on this show, watch the two matches I just mentioned. Other than that, I think you could probably skip Night 1.)
I’m still doing CAW[n]spiracy Shows. However, if you have a show you want me to review in the future, leave a suggestion in the comment section below!
